A lower-fee marketplace for real precious-metals inventory.
KaratMarket connects buyers and sellers of bullion, coins, jewelry, watches, gemstones, and scrap lots. Seller-direct fulfillment keeps fees low. KaratMarket-coordinated payment confirmation, listing review, dispute handling, and optional desk verification help keep high-value transactions orderly.
Seller-direct fulfillment
The seller owns and ships the item unless a listing is marked desk handled.
KaratMarket-coordinated payment
Buyers must use approved in-platform payment instructions, never direct seller payment.
Optional desk verification
For harder-to-verify items, KaratMarket can inspect, photograph, list, and ship from intake.
Financial-crime controls for a metals marketplace
Precious metals and jewelry can be used to move value. KaratMarket therefore runs a risk-based AML/KYC program for marketplace activity. We may require identity, business, beneficial-owner, tax, payment-account, source-of-funds, source-of-metal, and transaction-purpose information before allowing selling, buying, payout, consignment, high-value activity, crypto payment, or dealer status.
Who may need review
New sellers, high-volume sellers, dealers, consignment customers, high-value buyers, crypto/wire users, and anyone involved in unusual or risky activity.
What may be reviewed
Identity, business status, ownership of goods, payment-account name match, beneficial owners, transaction purpose, source of funds, source of goods, shipping addresses, and order history.
Sanctions and prohibited jurisdictions
KaratMarket may screen users, payments, wallets, counterparties, and addresses. We can delay, cancel, reject, freeze, or report activity that appears sanctioned, unlawful, or unsafe.
Cash and cash equivalents
Large cash or cash-equivalent activity may trigger additional review and reporting. We do not use cash payments for online MVP orders.
Suspicious activity
Structuring, third-party payments, mismatched names, stolen goods, counterfeit goods, mixer/tumbler exposure, unusual shipping, pressure to move off platform, or unverifiable source-of-goods claims can trigger refusal or reporting.
Records
KaratMarket keeps transaction, verification, dispute, listing, payment, and compliance-event records for legal, tax, fraud-prevention, and marketplace-safety purposes.
KaratMarket is not an escrow company, bank, money transmitter, commodity exchange, broker-dealer, investment adviser, or storage depository unless expressly stated in writing. Marketplace protected release is an operating control for order safety, not an offer of financial services or investment advice.
Trust badges
ID verified
Identity or business information has been reviewed. It does not mean every seller-direct item was physically authenticated.
Dealer
The seller has been approved for dealer tooling and higher-volume workflows. Dealer status can be removed for risk, disputes, or policy violations.
Desk verified
KaratMarket inspected the stated attributes in the intake note. It is not a guarantee of grade, market value, or future resale price.
Buyer protection
Buyers should inspect the item promptly after delivery. Eligible not-as-described claims must be opened before confirming receipt and within the claim window shown on the order. Refunds may require return shipment, inspection, and verification. Normal market movement, buyer remorse, minor toning, carrier delays, or facts disclosed in the listing are not covered.
Shipping and custody
Seller-direct orders require trackable shipping with insurance appropriate to the order value. Coverage limits vary by carrier and service, and seller-direct insurance remains the seller's responsibility unless stated otherwise. Desk-handled items ship through the KaratMarket intake workflow.
Prohibited activity
Stolen goods, counterfeit items, sanctions evasion, off-platform payments, contact-information sharing, third-party payments, unverifiable source-of-goods claims, misleading photos, and attempts to bypass marketplace review can lead to cancellation, account termination, payout hold, and law-enforcement reporting.
