What we collect
Account information (name, email), listings and transaction history, messages and disputes, upload metadata, compliance-event records, and operational server logs. Seller or buyer identity, business, beneficial-owner, tax, payment-account, source-of-funds, source-of-goods, and transaction-purpose information may be requested for AML/KYC, sanctions, fraud, high-value, consignment, dealer, or payout review. Card or bank credentials, when processor checkout is enabled, are handled by the processor and are not stored on KaratMarket servers.
How we use it
To run the marketplace: process orders, release payouts, prevent fraud, screen risky activity, moderate off-platform payment attempts, resolve disputes, meet legal obligations (including AML/sanctions review, secondhand-dealer reporting for consigned jewelry where required by law, Form 8300/tax reporting where thresholds apply), and send transactional messages. Marketing email is opt-in and unsubscribable.
Who we share it with
Payment processing and identity verification providers when enabled, shipping carriers and insurers, professional advisers, tax/reporting services where required, and law enforcement when legally required. We do not sell your personal information.
Your choices (including California rights)
You can access, correct, or delete your account data by emailing support. California residents may exercise CCPA rights — access, deletion, and correction — through the same channel; we do not discriminate for exercising them. Transaction records legally required to be retained (e.g., completed orders, dealer reporting) are kept for the mandated period.
